About Us
Nurturing Young Minds Since 1993
Welcome to Little Stars High School
Little Stars High School is a co-educational, English medium school in the heart of Park Street, Kolkata, following the ICSE curriculum. We have taught families in this neighbourhood since 1993, and we currently offer classes from Playgroup through to Class XI.
What has kept us going for more than three decades is not a single method or slogan. It is the day-to-day work of knowing each child by name, keeping classes small enough that nobody disappears at the back, and staying in honest conversation with parents about how their child is really doing.
Our Location and Connectivity
We are at 61C, Elliot Road, between Mukhtar Tower and Ibrah Banquet, a five-minute walk from the Nonapukur Tram Depot bus stop. Families reach us easily from Ripon Street, Park Street, Phoolbagan, Sealdah, Mullick Bazar, Esplanade and Beck Bagan. The central location means most of our students have a short, predictable journey to school, which matters more than it sounds — a tired child does not learn well.
Academic Excellence and Engaging Learning
We follow the ICSE framework because it rewards depth and clear written expression rather than memorisation alone. Our teachers build strong foundations in language, mathematics and science while making room for the questions children actually ask.
Classrooms use modern audiovisual aids and smartboard technology. The point of that equipment is not novelty; it is that a diagram you can move and rebuild explains a concept in a way a static blackboard cannot.
Holistic Development and Co-Curricular Activities
Education goes beyond textbooks. Alongside academics, students explore their interests through activities that run through the school year:
- Karate training for all levels, from beginner to advanced
- Dance and drama, building rhythm, confidence and stage presence
- Art, craft and non-fire cooking activities
- Cultural programmes, competitions and inter-school events
- Environmental and community initiatives
Karate deserves a particular mention. It is part of our physical education programme, not an optional extra, because the self-discipline and focus it teaches carry straight back into the classroom.
Student Well-being and Support
Teachers and support staff work closely with parents to provide guidance and a nurturing atmosphere. Caring didis look after our younger children through the day. Dedicated shadow teachers give individual attention to students with special needs, working alongside the class teacher rather than separately from them.
We keep parents’ visiting hours twice a week so that concerns are raised early, while they are still small.
Academic Progress and Future Scope
Classes run from Playgroup to Class XI, giving students a continuous and stable journey without the disruption of changing schools midway. Our focus remains on maintaining academic standards while adapting to how education is changing — including the introduction of AI and robotics classes for our senior students.
Visit Our Campus
We would rather you saw the school than read about it. Parents and guardians are welcome to visit, walk through the classrooms, meet the teachers and get a feel for the place before making any decision. Call the office to arrange a convenient time.
