Our Approach to Learning

Social-Emotional Learning

Education at Little Stars goes beyond academics. We give deliberate attention to emotional well-being and character, because a child who cannot manage frustration or ask for help will struggle regardless of ability.

Through morning sharing circles, teamwork projects, storytelling and value-based workshops, students learn to name and manage their emotions, build empathy, resolve conflict peacefully and grow in confidence. This work creates a safe and happy environment in which children develop into kind, capable and resilient individuals.

Implementation of NEP 2020

We have embraced the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 to make learning joyful, skill-based and future-ready. In practice, that means:

• Strong foundational literacy and numeracy in the early years
• Life skills introduced from an early stage rather than left until later
• Multidisciplinary activities that connect subjects instead of isolating them
• Multilingual literacy, building on the languages children already speak at home
• Concept-based assessment that tests understanding rather than recall
• Regular teacher training to keep classrooms innovative and child-centred

The aim is to prepare students not just for examinations but for life, so that they grow into confident, curious and responsible citizens.

Proud Member of ECA-APER India

We are a registered member of the ECA-APER India Community, a network of more than ten thousand educators and schools across the country dedicated to improving teaching and learning.

Through this membership our teachers take part in regular training and workshops led by national experts, adopt age-appropriate and child-friendly teaching methods, and stay current with educational research. The benefit reaches the classroom directly: it keeps our practice from going stale.

Technology in the Classroom

Smart classrooms and audiovisual aids support teaching rather than replace it. For our senior students we have introduced AI and robotics classes, giving them early, practical exposure to the tools that will shape the work they eventually do.

We are equally clear about limits. Screens are used where they genuinely explain something better; they are not a substitute for a teacher, a book or a conversation.

Learning Support

Children do not all learn at the same pace, and pretending otherwise helps nobody. Special classes give focused attention to students who need concepts strengthened. Dedicated shadow teachers work alongside the class teacher to support students with special needs within the ordinary classroom, so that no child is set apart from their friends.
